Lawyer Referral Service Subsidy
The Student Legal Fund Society is pleased to provide a subsidy of $25 to all registered UBC students as a first step towards receiving professional advice to settle your legal problems. You can learn more about the LRS here. This subsidy is on a refund basis, so you will need to provide the SLFS with a receipt and fill out a brief application before funds can be released to you. Application Fee Re-fund for a Dispute Resolution at Your Local RTB Office
The Student Legal Fund Society will reimburse all current UBC undergraduate students the application fees associated with filing a dispute resolution at any Residential Tenancy Branch offices. Students can apply for the re-fund once per academic year.
Please provide the SLFS with the recipe along with the application form for the re-fund.

The SLFS is pleased to organize free relevant and engaging workshops for all UBC students. The SLFS Know Your Legal Rights workshops are aimed at educating students about their legal civil rights, B.C tenancy rights, employment rights, and academic rights.

FEES
The Student Legal Fund Society collects a $1 fee from every UBC student as part of your mandatory fee payments each year. We strive to spend our annual budget responsibly and transparently, and with over a half million dollars of fees held in reserve, the SLFS is one of the largest not-for-profit organizations at UBC.
